Leigh Palmer is finishing her twelfth year with WYC, but her involvement started at the inception of the group in fall 1998 when daughter Libby joined WYC. Leigh was an active parent for those seven years when Libby was singing. In fall 2008, Leigh was asked to take over many of the administrative jobs from founder Ann Dillon, in order to free up more time for music and the singers, and has gradually taken on more responsibility as the Board has developed. She has grown with the Chorale as it shifted from two smaller groups to the current 70+ voice three-chorus group.
Leigh has been an active community volunteer for many years, involved heavily with school, church, yacht club leadership, and high school community sailing. Music is a delightful part of her life; indeed, she sang with an a capella group in college, then with Portland Community Chorus, Masterworks Chorus of the Choral Art Society, and currently in her local church choir for over thirty years. She dabbles with several instruments as well.
Leigh is delighted to be associated with this fantastic group of singers and three conductors, and is eager to assist current singers and families as well as answer questions from perspective singers. Please do not hesitate to contact her! firstname.lastname@example.org or 846-0705.
